This is the full version of the George branch of my family tree, or at least as full as I can get it.

I've pruned off anyone who is still alive.

The earliest George we know we are related to is William George, born October 30th (christened Dec 27) 1807 in Tipton, Staffordshire. We know that William's parents were Abraham and Ann George, and we believe that Abraham was born in 1770 to Joseph and Ann George. He was a cordwainer (shoemaker), and moved to Woodsetten, Staffordshire, between 1854 and 1861. His wife's name was Ann Walker (born in 1807 in Tettenhall, Staff.), and their children were (from the 1861 census):
Martha (Sep 1837)
Sarah (Nov 1839, married George T. Wright)
Anne (b 1840)
William (Nov 1841, married Ann ?)
Rosannah (June 1843, married Thomas Jeavons)
Abraham (Apr 1845, a labourer in 1861, vanished from all censes after that)
Sophia (Oct 1847, married John Simcox)
Joseph (Feb 1850, married Betsy ?)
and James (b July 20, 1854-Oct. 3, 1912).

All the children were born in Tipton, and in 1841, they had two apprentices living with them- Edward George (??) and Joseph George (who we believe was the illegitimate son of William's sister Sophia). They also had a lodger in the 1861 census- John Bradley, who was also a cordwainer. More information on James' siblings can be found here

James George was a seed merchant in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. He married Sarah Hancox (Oct 31, 1858-Mar 9, 1944), who had been born in the village of Cosely, in Sedgley parish of Staffordshire. They had four children:
James Walter Hancox George (Jun 6, 1881-May 1960, married Isabella Mulligan on Dec 31, 1914)
Ralph Harry William George (Oct 15, 1883-Nov 1955)
Mary Adeline GEORGE (born 1885; she died either during a botched abortion or committed suicide because she was pregnant and unwed; family wisdom also says she was a nurse and played the violin)
Barbara Juanita Sarah GEORGE (Mar 24, 1899- June 1969, married Arthur William Tudge. I visited her children when I was in England and they are very nice people).

Ralph had been born in Catshill, Bromsgrove, England on Oct. 15, 1883, and immigrated to Ontario in 1905. He returned to England for Christmas in 1907, and returned to Canada to start a farm in Bon Accord with his brother Jim in 1908. He also carved, among other things, the dragon which is the background of these pages.
He married Mary Kirkland Manson ALLAN (and people wonder why I have two middle names), in Edmonton on Sept. 1, 1922.

They had two children, the oldest being my Grandpa, James Allen George, who was born in Bon Accord, Alberta on July 2, 1923. Among numerous odd jobs, he farmed (despite being allergic to horses) and worked at the Bon Accord water treatment plant. He was famous for his sense of humour, kindness, and his perfect Sunday pancakes. He served as a photographer in the Canadian Air Force in WWII, and was active with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. He died of a heart attack in 1991, following surgery to remove a fungus from one of his lungs.

Jim had one brother, Roland Hancox GEORGE (Aug 1, 1924-Aug 25, 1992).

Sarah Hancox was the daughter of Joseph Hancox, a puddler (metal worker). He was born in 1816 in Birmingham, and married Elizabeth Harper, a shopkeeper. Their children were:
Racheal (b 1837)
Abraham (b 1839, also a puddler)
Joseph (b 1841, also a puddler)
Abiathen (b 1844, this is a son)
Daniel (b 1846)
Martha (b 1848)
James (b 1851)
Elizabeth (b 1853)
Samuel (b 1855)
Sarah

All the children were born in Cosely, in the Sedgley Parish of Staffordshire.
We believe that Joseph's parents were either Thomas and Racheal or William and Mary. Similarly, we think that Elizabeth's parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Harper.
